Jean-Gabriel Pérès will preside over the Advisory Board for the Worldwide Hospitality Awards

The president and CEO of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, will be president of the Advisory Board for the 15th edition of the Worldwide Hospitality Awards. The Awards ceremony will be held in Paris on November 17, at the InterContinental Hotel Paris Le Grand.

Jean Gabriel Pérès (born in 1957) has been the President and CEO of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, since 1999. Born in Paris, he holds an MBA from ESSEC, the famous French business school. After nearly two years in the French marines, Jean Gabriel has had an international career in the luxury goods and hospitality sectors. Before joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as President and CEO, Jean Gabriel was the Managing Director of a leading sales and distribution company for luxury goods, perfume and tobacco products with branches in 13 Asian countries. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director for Asia Pacific of Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts and a member of the Executive Committee of the Le Méridien Group. During his tenure with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts he was based in Hong Kong. In a previous capacity, he was the Group's Vice President Development for Africa and the Middle East. Prior to joining Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts he negotiated strategic partnerships, including aeronautical agreements with corporations in the United States and the Middle East for the Matra Lagardere Group (today EADS). Jean Gabriel is a board member of Orascom Development and an active member of the World Travel & Tourism Council. He lives in Paris with his family and is an avid tennis player and sailor. Jean-Gabriel Pérès was also recently made a Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor.

In addition to ensuring the competition is conducted properly, Advisory Board also plays an important role in the selection of certain candidates.
