With a resume that already includes world-renowned hospitality names such as Ritz-Carlton, Walt Disney World, Four Seasons and Fairmont, Les Roches graduate Hamza is succeeding in his professional goal to create an impact and help make quantifiable differences. Today he is Guest Relations Manager at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Canada.

My hospitality career began with Les Roches Marbella in 2014, where I had studied Hotel Management with a specialization in SME. During my time there I had excelled academically and had volunteered in multiple extracurricular activities, which led me to become a member of the Eta Sigma Delta honor society. With my overall involvement as a Student Ambassador and summer camp leader at Les Roches, I was awarded the Student of the Year in 2018.

For my first work experience, I worked at the Ritz Carlton Abama in Tenerife where I held various service roles in the restaurant El-Mirador. Thereafter, I was able to achieve a 3-month internship at the Park Hyatt in Saudi Arabia as a Rooms Division trainee. These were my first experiences in the 5-star luxury market and the goal was to understand the luxury service operations and standards as much as I could.

This was met with success when I was hired as a Front Office Agent at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin. This is a 2,300-room hotel and soon I was learning how operations ran on a large scale. During my time there, I had become one of the top revenue generators through upsells and one of the agents assigned to enhance the overall arrival experience. Soon after, I was promoted to housekeeping supervisor and helped improve our housekeeping operations where I had led a project to improve the overall room conditions for 750 rooms.

After graduating, my next hospitality endeavor took me to Convene in Los Angeles, where I was an Operation Supervisor in this new and upcoming meeting/co-working space. I conceptualized and built effective training plans for our service operations. Our CEO was so impressed with my presentation and solution that I was assigned to a committee that would help create an efficient and standardized training plan for all our locations in the US. Moreover, I oversaw our catering operations where I revamped our catering menu to help simplify orders, prospected new catering business from clients around downtown LA and restructured all catering operations. With all my efforts at Convene Los Angeles, I was awarded Colleague of the Quarter in 2019.

In 2020 I decided to go back to school, so I moved to Canada in order to further my education by going to Seneca college and completing two postgraduate certificates in Global Hospitality Operations Management & Global Business Development. During my time there I led a team of students that was tasked with improving the overall arrival experience for the Delta downtown Toronto. I graduated with being in the president’s honor list twice due to excellent academic results and was working a part time job at the Four Seasons Toronto as a Residence Concierge.

I started as a Front desk agent in December 2020 and quickly became a strong asset to the team as I received a barrage of employee recognition forms and reviews on Trip Advisor for exceptional customer service. I was awarded “Heartist” of the month for February and within six months of joining I was able to secure my current role as Guest Relations Manager.

I was then entrusted with being manager on duty for our evening operations. I was also asked to champion a seamless arrival experience for our tour guests while we adhere to all the restrictions that have been imposed. Additionally, I curated an ideal training plan that can be used for seasonal and long-term employees. Finally, I was tasked with driving the GOP through meeting or exceeding the upgrade and walk in goals.

Earlier this year I was appointed to my current role, as Guest Relations Manager at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Alberta, Canada.
