Campaign - Accor says stop to single-use plastic in its hotels by 2022
Cette candidature n'est disponible qu'en anglais / This application is only available in English.
At Accor, we use 200M+ single-use plastic products per year in our rooms, meetings, restaurants and leisure areas. As part of our commitment to reduce the Group’s environmental impact, Accor goes further than the competition and local legislations and announced a new commitment to eliminate all guest-related single-use plastic items in all hotels by end 2022.
If we don’t act now, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans in 2050. Accor took one bold commitment in 2019/20: eliminate ALL guest-related single-use plastic items in its hotels by end 2022 across 110 countries.
Accor offered sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics to maintain the same level of guest experience. Each solution measures operational impact, costs and environmental performance.
Accor is the first major international hospitality group to join the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Tourism Organization.
!! We are still dedicated to stick to our ambitious plan, even if the pandemic seems to have brought plastic back in the game. Our main achievements are however in progress.
By end 2021, we will eliminate individual plastic toiletry bottles and plastic cups.
