Hospitality Asset Forum

As we enter the final quarter of 2023, the European hotel sector can look back on a successful year, following a period of very strong recovery after Covid 19. But there are other factors besides record performance to consider. Rising interest rates, inflation, energy costs and the geopolitical context are all factors that are reshaping the landscape for hotel investment and development. We will be exploring these issues together at the Hospitality Asset Forum on 9 November.

Some are going on the offensive, while others are reacting defensively and deploying new strategies to maximise the value of their assets. Operators have a role to play in this context, and new ways of investing are emerging.

See you at the Hospitality Asset Forum.

I'd like to be there.

Sequence 1: setting the scene

With Christophe Barraud, Bloomberg's top forecaster, who will be talking to Vanguélis Panayotis about the months ahead for global economic activity. The health of issuing markets, the interest rate environment, energy inflation... these are just some of the questions facing investors in the sector, to which Christophe and Vanguélis will provide some answers.

Next, let's take a closer look at the hospitality sector with Sylvie Bergeret, Director of Research at MKG Consulting. MKG Consulting supports hundreds of hotel projects every year and has a front-row seat to the pulse of tourism investment.

Sequence 2: diving into the heart of the reactor

Camil Yazbeck, Global CEO Development, will share his vision of the changes in hotel development. His 20 years in the hospitality sector, first in operations, then on the investment side, and finally with Accor to develop the group's presence around the world, have enabled him to witness the fundamental changes that the sector is undergoing. How can we face up to these changes as an operator and continue to deliver value to our partners and owners?

Covivio Hotels has also been investing in the hospitality sector for 20 years, and is now evolving its investment thesis. Tugdual Millet, CEO of Covivio Hotels, will share his strategy and objectives with us.

Following this, we'll take a look at two case studies where we'll take a look at post-Covid 19 investment models. Which partners to choose? With what objectives? What is the long-term approach...
