
After the political unrest, Egyptian hospitality finds hope, marking the start of a period of recovery for this rich tourism destination.
The month of February 2012 marks the start of recovery for tourism in Egypt. Over the whole period, attendance in this international destination is up 257% over the same period in 2011, when the country was affected by the events of the Arab Spring.A total of 753,451 tourists visited the country. A result far from 2010 figures (30%), when Egypt had reached its attendance records. Russia remains at the top spot source market, followed by Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland and France. From January to February 2012, visitation to this destination increased of 15.8% over the first months of 2011, but down 26% over the same period in 2010.
