Hilton Hotels & Resorts to enter Myanmar

The first Hilton brand hotel is set to open in Yangon Myanmar in 2014 after signing a management agreement with LP Holding Co. Ltd.

Andrew Clough, senior vice president, development, Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide explains that this development decision was impacted by recent political changes in the country, which helped stimulate Myanmar-bound travel by 45.1% compared to the previous year.The Hilton Yangon will offer 300 guestrooms in the Centrepoint Towers mixed-use development, located opposite Yangon's High Court building and Independence Monument Park. The mixed-use development offers upscale retail and offices in addition to the hotel.The Hilton Yangon will include three restaurants, including all-day dining, and two lounges. It will also offer 1,400 square meters of event space, a fitness center, pool, and spa.
