Hyatt Hotels first Thompson property in Georgia is located in the district of Eastern Wharf, near the city’s historical neighbourhood.
Following a joint venture project by Regent Partners, Mariner Group and Cadre, Hyatt has brought its brand Thompson in Georgia with the recent opening of Thompson Savannah. Drawing its name from the nearby river, the hotel thoughtfully combines history and modernity into its design, making as if to pay homage to Savannah’s vibrant history.
According to Matt Graham, general manager of the newly opened property, the hotel strikes a perfect balance in terms of historicity and modernity and provides a unique destination for people to unwind.
“Our riverside setting allows guests to take in Savannah’s burgeoning waterfront scene while also providing a timeless destination just steps away from the bustle of the city. We couldn’t be more thrilled to officially welcome guests to our property.” says Matt Graham
To fully take advantage of the location of the hotel, the 193 rooms, which includes 21 suites, all offer views of the Savannah River, the coastal islands and the Atlantic Ocean. This was made possible by the clever design of the guestroom tower which stands perpendicular to the river. Studio 11 Design, the team behind the layout of the hotel also made sure to capture the Southern landscape indoors trough the use of custom stone patterns, flora and vast green spaces.
In Thompson Savannah there are many places where customers may relax and enjoy their time. For instance, the Southern-flavoured restaurant, the Fleeting, which is ran by Chef Robert Newton, is a perfect place to relish regional tastes. As a finishing touch, a rooftop bar, a poolside lounge, private cabanas and 10,000 square feet of event space are also available for the customers.
