Every month, Vanguélis Panayotis, Development Director of MKG Group, comments on the French luxury hotel performances on Hospitality-On after the monthly MKG Hospitality results are published.
After an excellent August marked by the strong presence of Middle-Eastern clientele in France for leisure activities, September, a month traditionally important in terms of business activities, shows stable performances compared to September 2012. The Parisian Palaces show a net decrease in occupancy rate (-7.6 points). This decrease in the occupancy rate was compensated for by a strong increase in price (10.5 %), thus allowing RevPAR to progress slightly (1.0 %). On the French Riviera, Palaces register a more limited reduction in the occupation rate, but average prices are declining, too, what has for consequence to bring a contraction of about 3% of RevPAR. The international business clientele, which usually frequents the luxury segment, was less present on the French territory than last year.
