The European hotel industry has started out the year on the right foot. After having posted an improvement in summer performances, the continent’s hotels seem to have benefited from the mild Indian summer in September, with a new increase in indicators.

Occupancy rates remained above 70% in most countries, for a European average of 77.4%, or 0.9 of a percentage point more than during the same period last year. Average daily rates in turn maintained themselves beyond 100 euro, having risen 1.8% in comparison to last year. The cumulative of the two...
