Following the successful launch of Radisson RED Cape Town in 2017, the brand of the Carlson Rezidor group has announced the opening of its second hotel in Africa, located in Johannesburg in the Gauteng province. The latter, which stands near the Oxford Parks, is a mixed-use area comprising apartments, retailers, restaurants and offices.
Taking advantage of the recent surge in developments of the Rosebank neighbourhood, the commercial and residential cosmopolitan suburban located in the north of Johannesburg, Radisson RED Johannesburg is home to many rooms, offices and services.
Designed to meet the demands of the customers, the 222-key hotel draws inspiration from the local art, music and communities. One can find the unique style of the RED brand: a colourful design accompanied with the latest high-tech products. The decoration inspired by the local art suits the city as expressed by Tim Cordon, Area Senior Vice President, Middle East and Africa at Radisson Hotel Group:
"We are delighted to debut Radisson RED in Johannesburg, a city that perfectly suits every aspect of this brand as they both have a distinctly infectious energy and honour the city’s locals by celebrating their unique art, fashion and music."
Like its sister hotel in Cape Town, Johannesburg’s hotel is home to a Rooftop Bar & Terrace. There is also a pool with views of the entire city. Few steps across the main road of Rosebank stands the restaurant of chef Genghis San, where customers can enjoy multi-flavoured dishes. For the professionals, 6 meeting rooms which can hold up to 120 people, as well as remote-work rooms are also available.
