Hospitality: summer heats up on French shorelines and in luxury hotels

The government recently expressed optimism regarding arrivals in France during this summer season and foresees a new global record in terms of tourist arrivals in 2015, with a figure estimated at over 85 million foreign visitors. Trends observed by MKG Hospitality in the hotel industry for 2015 confirm growth in sector results, but present major disparities depending on the category of accommodations and geographic areas.

Generally speaking, French hotels did fairly well this summer. The sector particularly benefited from more clement weather than last year, the drop in the Euro and the reticence of tourists to travel to destinations that are threatened by terrorism.
