While the difficulties that the country has had to deal with prior to the summer season did not have too much of an impact on hotel results, which rose sharply since the beginning of the year, sector professionals are confident about the current year and their outlook, even though the challenges coming up in 2016 will be many including an increase in the VAT and possible deregulation of the market, thus opening the door to collaborative platforms.

While the beginning of the year 2015 was very encouraging for Greek tourism, the summer season proved to be quite busy in terms of current events, due to the implementation of capital control at the beginning of July, the closing of banks that ensued and the arrival of growing numbers of refugees...
