The German Tourism Bureau announces record arrivals for 2013, with more than 70 million foreign nights.

On the whole of the year 2013, the number of foreign nights in Germany surpassed 70 million. International visitors realized 71.6 million nights at the destination on the period, or 4% more than in 2012.

The German Tourism Bureau is thus talking about new records for occupancy rates. The five main supply markets, that are the United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland, the Gulf countries and Poland, generated close to half of all foreign nights at the destination.

As far as concerns the year 2014, the German Tourism Bureau expects demand to remain strong for tourism: "We are expecting a figure higher than 80 million foreign nights by the year 2020, with growth between 1% and 3% for the year 2014," declared Petra Hedorfer, director of the Tourism Bureau.
