The Danish hotel landscape has undergone a significant change with the merger of Zleep Hotels A/S and Core Hospitality A/S, creating one of the country's largest hotel operators. This strategic merger, which follows the demerger of Zleep Hotels with the German group Deutsche Hospitality, makes the new entity the fourth largest hotel company in Denmark.
While Deutsche Hospitality now owns 100% of the Zleep Hotels brand, Core Hospitality becomes the sole owner of Zleep Hotels' operations in Denmark. The restructuring enables Core Hospitality to strengthen its market position by consolidating the 14 Zleep Hotels in Denmark with its other managed properties.
The new merged company will operate under the name ‘Core Hospitality’, retaining its multi-brand strategy as a white label hotel operator. In total, Core Hospitality now manages 19 hotels under five different brands: 14 Zleep hotels in Denmark, two Moxy hotels in Norway, one Fairfield by Marriott and one Residence Inn by Marriott in Copenhagen, as well as the Kirk Suites in Vejle.
The merger enables Core Hospitality to increase its scale of operation, making it easier to negotiate better rates with partners, expand its commercial efforts to more properties and develop a broader talent pool. In addition, the new structure offers property investors enhanced opportunities to maximise returns and reduce stabilisation periods, while benefiting from greater flexibility in brand choice.
Core Hospitality has around 500 employees across its organisation. Managing a total of 19 hotels with 2,288 rooms, and with two expansion projects underway, the company is well placed to continue its growth and strengthen its influence in the market.
“It was also my dream to be a white-label hotel operator. Now we truly are with five brands – and more to come.” - Peter Haaber, CEO of Core Hospitality
