November: the RevPAR keeps up the march

With 9.3% growth in the RevPAR, November reinforces growth of French hotel industry results and prefigures an excellent last quarter. On twelve sliding months, growth of the RevPAR reached 9.1% and France should come close to the record it made in 2000 (+9.4%). Last month’s strikes and the slight slump in the third quarter only had a small impact on the overall result. Many elements participated in what would remain – record or not– one of the best years for France’s hotel industry: the strong activity of the business segment, important trade fairs in Paris that resulted in good occupancy, a good summer season despite dismal weather and finally the World Rugby Cup.

Last month’s social unrest only had a limited effect on the dynamics of the hotel sector.
