While the hospitality industry is renowned for being a veritable social ladder, where someone without a degree can start out as a dishwasher before working their way up to become a hotel manager, education remains the quickest route to positions of great responsibility. Future talents are turning to the best hotel schools to train and join this rich industry. However, the cost of excellent studies can be daunting for many students. This is a financial barrier that schools, authorities and even the students themselves are trying to overcome through various financing solutions.

How much will student life cost in 2024?

How much does a high-quality education cost?

It's no secret that excellence comes at a price. Going to a top hotel management school is a wise choice for students who are ambitious about their future careers, but it comes with a relatively high price tag. While tuition fees vary from school to school, they also depend on the course of study chosen.

Coût des formations écoles hôtelières internationales

Unsurprisingly, Swiss hotel schools are at the top of the range, with tuition fees ranging from €76,000 to over €150,000 for a 3- or 4-year degree, depending on the school. Nearly half of these top international schools cost between €76,000 and €100,000 for a bachelor's degree, while some have more attractive prices, such as Institut Lyfe (formerly Institut Paul Bocuse), which costs between €51,000 and €70,000.

Some other schools, such as Les Roches, Ferrandi and Hotel School The Hague, offer more affordable prices for students with less financial means. However, choosing a school should not be based solely on the price of admission. The quality and diversity of the courses, the number of campuses on offer, the variety of courses available and the support provided for professional projects are all decisive factors in choosing a school that meets your expectations and needs.

This is precisely where Institut Lyfe stands out, having recently joined the prestigious Conférence des Grandes Ecoles. As the first public school in the culinary arts and hospitality professions to join this French association, this recognition underlines the quality and excellence of its teaching. The Institute's status as an 'Affiliated Grande Ecole' is due in no small part to its immersive teaching methods, based on a unique learning environment that includes a Michelin-starred restaurant, a 5-star hotel, an experimental restaurant and a multi-sensory concept creation room.
