First Asian fairmont opened in Singapore

The Fairmont Singapore, the company's first Asian property opened in Singapore last December 2007 as part of Raffles City complex, which also includes the Raffles City Convention Centre and the Raffles City Shopping Centre. Under the umbrella of Kingdom International Hotel and Colony Capital, Fairmont and Raffles are now sister companies. Fairmont announced three other projects in the region, Fairmont Beijing, Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai and a future hotel development project on Macao's Cotai Strip. The 769-room Fairmont Singapore hotel is featuring 17 distinctive restaurants and bars and one of Asia's largest spa, offering 35 treatment rooms. Since the opening of the landmark Fairmont San Francisco in 1907, the brand has grown to over 50 hotels & resorts worldwide.
