17 city hotels from arcona to join Vienna House's portfolio.
Rupert Simoner told Hospitality ON in 2017, "Regarding investment opportunities, we are currently looking at individual hotels and small portfolios of 5 to 10 hotels that could be a good fit for us, i.e. which we can convert into Vienna House or Vienna House Easy units." Vienna House keeps expanding in Europe with this agreement.
As of January 1st 2019, Vienna House operated 32 properties (around 5 800 rooms).
The purchase concerns 17 hotels and 2 projects (Greifswald and Mannheim). 8 arcona Living and 4 arcona Hotels are into the deal along with five Steigenberger.
arcona will focus on resorts by developing Barefoot Hotels, as they recently signed a long-term agreement with its founder Til Schweiger for the worldwide implementation of the concept as a licensee. The company keeps 6 hotels in its portfolio and 20 Barefoot Hotels are to be opened over the next ten years.
