The hotel group closed 2013 with 3.5% growth in its international turnover, in sharp contrast with the 8% growth it saw the previous year.

For all of 2013, Best Western reported 1.427 billion dollars in turnover, or 3.5% growth over the previous year, from its reservation center. The economic crisis somewhat slowed growth of the network, whose turnover had progressed by 8% in 2012. On the period, the number of nights was 13.34 million, up by 2.6%, and the average daily rate progressed by 0.9%, to 107.07 dollars.

In France, results of the hotel cooperative are down slightly. Through its reservation center, Best Western France posted a turnover of 46.75 million euros, down from 4.32% with respect to 2012. The volume of nights also shrank by 2.27%, to 387,000, and the average daily rate is down by 2.11%, to 120.60 euros.

In terms of growth, Best Western France welcomed 17 new member hotels (or 1,007 rooms), bringing its portfolio to 318 hotels in France. The network pursued its rise in range and now has 276 hotels under the Best Western brand, of which 22 are under the Best Western Plus brand and 20 are under Best Western Premier. In 2014, 22 new hotels should join the cooperative for 1,497 rooms, at destinations such as Paris, Lille, Nantes and Arcachon.
