Through the acquisition of Nordic Hotels Group and its 25 properties throughout Germany, Louvre Hotels Group is doubling its capacity in the country and taking advantage of a base for operations that will manage the destination.

Founded in 2002 by Dag Kleveland, a Norwegian entrepreneur and majority shareholder, Nordic Hotels is managed by its ceo Thomas Knudsen. The supply was built progressively since the first acquisition in Kiel, at the rate of 2 to 3 new properties per year to a total of 23 operational hotels today with 2 under construction, for more than 1,800 rooms. Most of the supply consists of 3* hotels under the Nordic Hotel brand and a new brand with a contemporary design, Nordic Pure in Munich and soon in Stuttgart. The group also includes 5 hotels under the brand Best Western and a Mercure franchise.

Four months after the takeover of nine hotels under the brand Motel One, which went under the Pemière Classe banner. Matthieu Evrard, chief development officer at Louvre Hotels insists: "after this strategic acquisition, in less than two years the Group's German capacity has grown from 8 to 43 hotels, representing 3,730 rooms, in 15 major cities across the country."

Pierre-Frédéric Roulot, ceo Louvre Hotels Group, is pleased to strengthened the group's position "in a country that experienced 20% growth in the RevPAR over the last five years. We want to become a leading operator in the country. This strategic acquisition of Nordic Hotels is a new step in our international development, supported by our shareholder Jun Jiang, who provides the means to support our ambitious development policy in Europe."

Ten hotels will become Golden Tulip and ten others Tulip Inn, the remaining five will become Première Classe. Two of the Première Classe hotels are currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2016.

Moreover, Louvre Hotels Group Germany will have a hub at Nordic Hotels' management platform in Kiel so it will have a new center for following operations and continuing to develop in the country.
