The investment fund increases its stake in the company.

Following the decision made at the general meeting of shareholders to increase the capital, Icamap is about to become the first shareholder of the hotel chain easyHotel, created by Stelios Haji-Iannou, the founder of easyJet.

Icamap's stake will thus increase from 29.9% to 38.7% of the share capital. Harm Meijer, Icamap's founding partner, will become a non-executive member of the Board of Directors.

The second shareholder in the hotel chain positioned in the budget segment will be easyGroup Ltd and other parties acting with Stelios Haji-Iannou, with nearly 26% of the capital.
The £50 million will enable easyHotel to accelerate its development across Europe while continuing its integrated model of promoter, investor, operator and franchisor.

The hotel group currently claims 26 hotels, with 2,343 rooms in 8 countries; 15 new hotels are scheduled to open in 2018 and 2019. The company is mainly based in Europe, but also in the Middle East and Asia.
