The 5 star hotel Schloss Pichlarn in the Austrian Alps has a new owner. The hotel owner Georg Imlauer took over the Schlosshotel with his group of companies IMLAUER Hotel & Restaurant GmbH on January 1st.
With this acquisition, Mr. Imlauer adds for the first time a classic vacation hotel to its existing portfolio of city hotels and restaurants in Salzburg and Vienna. He takes over the hotel with the existing operating company and about 100 employees.
The house is surrounded by 680,000 square meters of land and is also designed to impress with its historical charm and contemporary character. In total, the house comprises 96 hotel rooms and suites. A wellness and spa area, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, an underground car park, a helipad and, last but not least, the hotel's own 18-hole golf course located around the castle give Schloss Pichlarn a position in the upscale hotel industry.
Lukas Hochedlinger, Managing Director at Christie & Co, who accompanied the sales process with his team said :
We are very pleased to have found in Mr. Imlauer an experienced hotelier who knows the Austrian hotel market and appreciates the 1000-year history of the castle as well as the sought-after location. The vacation hotel industry has been hit less hard by the corona pandemic than the city hotel industry, so this step is understandable for us. Mr. Imlauer expands his hotel portfolio, showing diversity in the crisis.
