Hilton surpasses forecasts for 2017

The company posts excellent performances for 2017.

President and CEO Hilton, Christopher J. Nassetta announced fourth quarter results and more generally results for the year 2017 that surpass "the upper limit of our forecasts for the adjusted EBITDA and the diluted EPS (Earnings per share)".

RevPAR (comparable system wide) increased 3.8% in the fourth quarter and by 2.5% across the year 2017, on a currency neutral basis with respect to corresponding periods in 2016.

He adds that given the strength of the brand portfolio of the group, Hilton continues to grow and now has "the largest number of rooms under construction in the industry."

During the fourth quarter last year, Hilton announced the opening of 123 hotels for 19,100 rooms (or net growth by 18,400 rooms). Across the year 2017, the group opened 399 hotels for 59,100 rooms (or net growth by 51,600 rooms).
