Laurence Tosi, formerly the financial director at the investment fund Blackstone, will soon occupy the same functions within the collaborative platform.

Financial director of the American investment fund Blackstone since 2008, Laurence Tosi now holds the same position at the peer-to-peer rental platform Airbnb. "The expertise of Laurence Tosi in the hotel and finance industry will help Airbnb reach a second level," declared Brian Chesky, CEO Airbnb, in a press release.

At the next level, the director of the collaborative platform could turn to future fund raising or a possible introduction to the stock exchange. In both cases, Laurence Tosi's support would be precious for the young firm that recently raised 1.5 billion dollars in funds, valuing it at 25.5 billion dollars (read our article). This valorisation is founded on the potential of converting the 35 million client listing into cash and future benefits, while the group's turnover did not surpassed 850 million dollars in 2014 and the accounts remain in the red (150 million dollars in losses in 2014).

Laurence Tosi's resignation from Blackstone will become effective next August 7. Prior to filling to position of financial director at the investment fund, he was director of global market operations and investments for the bank Merrill Lynch & Co.
