The hotel group has reported a drop in net income during the second quarter of 2013, down 3.6 million USD from Q2 2012.
Despite a 6% increase in franchising revenues and 3.5% RevPAR increases compared to the same period last year, net income for Choice Hotels International decreased during the second quarter of the year, as compared to Q2 2012.At 28.2 million USD, net income dropped 3.6 million USD from 31.8 million during Q2 2012. This may seem incongruous with many seeming increases, but expansion came with a 10.6 million USD sales and marketing expenditure increase from last year that counterbalanced gains.
