Club Méditerranée SA has posted substantial growth in bookings this year, particularly from Chinese consumers, leading to first half results that beat analyst estimates by a wide margin.

Club Med’s early summer bookings are up 5.4%, including a 17% rise in the Americas and a 5.2% increase in Europe. First-half operating income rose 67% to €47 million, easily topping analyst estimates of €40 million at the high end.Visitation to Club Med’s upscale and luxury resorts improved 22% in the first half year over year, while total customer counts rose 7% overall.
