Going out to dinner as a family is a difficult exercise for many parents who do not want to give up their social life. At weekends, they want to be able to enjoy some family time together and suitable places are not always easy to find.

The restaurant is the best place to introduce children to a new setting and new rules, different from those at home or in the canteen. The children discover new dishes that are different from those of the canteen or fast-food restaurant.

The family evolves and so does the child's position. More and more F&B actors are working to appeal to the whole family by providing space to play, a pleasant setting and balanced menus.

Integrating offers dedicated to families and children within an F&B concept is a real challenge, a vector of income and therefore of performance. Addressing a family clientele allows you to develop your turnover. Indeed, being identified as "Kids friendly" can attract up to 25% more customers.

Capturing this category of customers also makes it possible to generate prescriptions and revisits. A moment spent in a restaurant with the family is synonymous with sharing and conviviality, and there is a strong emotional dimension linked to these outings. If children have a good experience in a restaurant, they will not fail to ask their parents to return. Today's children are also future hosts.

Aware of the lack of offers dedicated to children, more and more F&B and hospitality actors are rethinking their offers and designing their spaces to appeal to families. The aim is to offer a range of activities, a quality welcome, adapted facilities and a space reserved for children. It's about going beyond nuggets and chips and colouring on the table. Some restaurant owners are playing the "Kids friendly" card to the hilt by offering real culinary discoveries and even entertainment.

Every Sunday, La Felicità (Big Mamma) becomes the place to be with workshops that delight young and old. While parents enjoy freshly baked pizzas or signature truffle pasta, children can take part in a yoga class, manual workshops or a nursery for the little ones.

The Flunch catering group, once again voted favourite restaurant of families this year, pays special attention to the youngest by offering them a new experience "like the grown-ups". Intuitive and fun, children's order terminals are provided at the same height to allow them to choose their menu. Children can create their own plate at the all-you-can-eat vegetable buffet. They can serve themselves and create flavour combinations that they like. Awakening of the senses and curiosity guaranteed.

Working on the Family in F&B concept cannot be improvised and must be part of the upstream thinking when creating the property.
