The famous professional real estate event will be postponed to September. Moreover, it will no longer be held in Cannes but in Paris. Virtual meetings will be organized in parallel from April onwards.
Faced with the Covid-19 health crisis that is currently raging around the world, MIPIM has been postponed for a few months until the situation returns to normal. Initially scheduled for 10 to 13 March 2020, it had already been postponed a first time from 2 to 5 June.
Commenting on the decision to postpone it again, Filippo Rean, Director of Reed Midem's real estate division, explained in a press release issued on Wednesday 25 March :
The situation surrounding COVID-19 is changing daily and government measures are becoming increasingly restrictive. It is clear that holding a large MIPIM tradeshow in Cannes in June is not feasible given the rapid spread, devastating impact and uncertain evolution of the virus. As it is not possible to organize a traditional MIPIM by the end of this year, we are planning a different form of gathering for clients in the autumn in Paris, plus a digital experience, MIPIM Connect. These aim to help the industry start to recover and are the precursors of MIPIM in Cannes in March 2021
The event will take place in September in Paris. In parallel to the event, virtual exchange sessions will be held in April, a free solution for registered participants, available all year round and renamed Mipim Connect.
About this tool, the organizer explains:
This new online service will offer a range of high-quality content, marketing and matchmaking tools, available to real estate professionals around the world throughout the year
Concerning the next edition to be held in Cannes, it will take place from 16 to 19 March 2021.
