Even Frydenberg is the new President and CEO of Scandic Hotels

After eight years as head of Scandic Hotels group, Frank Fiskers has decided to pass the torch next summer to Even Frydenberg, who was, until recently, in charge of Western Europe for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He will take office on July 31.

Even Frydenberg, 53 years old, of Norwegian origin, started his hotel career at Starwood Hotels in 1993 with almost 15 years of continuous service. Since 2013, he has been Operations Director for Western Europe and last September, after the merger with Marriott, his position was extended to all hotels in the group.

After more than eight years at the helm of Scandic Hotels, and a three-year interruption following the sale of its subsidiary by Hilton Worldwide to new shareholders, Frank Fiskers has decided to step back from operational functions. He was warmly thanked by the board, chaired by Vagn Sørensen, for his accomplished work and for having grown the group from 16 to 230 hotels during his tenure as president.

He will remain as a consultant to the board to ensure the transfer of power to Even Frydenberg, who will join the group on May 1, but who will not take up his effective duties until July 31.
