The honeymoon between Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and the Sheikh investor Al Jaber continues with the opening of the Qaryat Al Beri in Abu Dhabi. A new hotel managed by the luxury hotel leader in the Asia Pacific zone. It is the second contract of its kind between two partners after the profitable experience of the Shangri-La in Dubai. Built on 8.5 hectares the goal of the property is to become a “destination within the destination”. In addition to its 5* hotel, it includes 161 long-stay apartments with four rooms and seven luxury villas, all of which are along a private beach one kilometer long. This is the first time such a project has risen out of the ground in the emirate-city that is growing. In the hotel, the 214 rooms are generously sized (45 sq.m) and all enjoy ocean views. CHI, Shangri-La’s spa brand, which uses ancestral Asian techniques, is also represented. More exotic: a replica of a Middle Eastern souk is actually a buffet that is always open, offering dishes representing the region’s different types of cuisine... Already open, the Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri is counting on December to bring operations up to full speed.
