l Hotels Group is working with Goodzill industries to add on to its IHG academy for increased job creation in the United States and Canada.
For its Goodwill IHG Academy Program, the hotel group has partnered with Goodwill, an agency that helps people retain economic independence. The agency sells donated clothing and household goods, creates jobs, and funds job training programs, and employment placement services. The partnership with Goodwill helps IHG Academy reach necessary skills at the local level. Goodwill's job services help add the dimension of job placement for IHG Academy students, thus allowing them to gain experience with the job interview process, and introduce students to important mentoring and networking connections."We are enthusiastic about working with Goodwill Industries to expand the IHG Academy program in North America and further support economic growth", said Kirk Kinsell, IHG's president for the Americas. "IHG has been a contributor to the travel industry's job creation engine fueling the U.S. economy since the recession. And we have a need to recruit even more skilled, motivated and talented employees into our workforce, so that we can continue to meet the needs of our guests", he continues.
