The Swiss hotel school is following the trend to uberize tourism services through the startup platform Seedstars World in collaboration with the firm Seedstars. The goal: to connect students who wish to create their own business with investors while they are still studying.
According to Sonia Tatar, General Manager Les Roches International School of Hotel Management: "33% of Les Roches alumni have had a successful experience creating their business. A young graduate recently created Social Belly, a platform for individuals to share meals together. One of our current students just co-founded Hot Hotels, a booking application that was awarded Best start-up in Andalusia. On "Made In Les Roches", our new entrepreneurship option, we honor former students who have become entrepreneurs. Our school will produce more and more graduates with an entrepreneurial profile."
The main campus of Les Roches is located in the Swiss Alps, in the village of Bluche. The school also has campuses or partner properties in China, Spain, Jordan and the United States. Seedstars World, meanwhile, is a platform that is part of the Swiss group Seedstars. It participates in promotions, connecting and investment, entrepreneurship and new technologies, within emerging and developing markets. More particularly, the investment firm offers an international competition (in 65 countries) for startups, the best of which will receive 1 million dollars.
