
Lausanne, 7 January 2011 – Along the lines of its basic policy on environmental and social actions and within the framework of the Academic Year dedicated to Sustainable Development (SD) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) is honoured to welcome Mr János Pásztor, Special Adviser on Climate Change to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Ban Ki-moon. Mr Pásztor will address the EHL students on 20 January 2011. During this conference Mr Pásztor will explain his missions, roles and actions at the UN. He will define for us in detail what constitutes climate change, its causes and consequences, and identify the stakeholders.Following the multiple initiatives in favour of SD and CSR that have been implemented over the last ten years and which led to the awarding of the Swiss Ethics Prize in 2006, EHL will invite Mr Pásztor to talk about the issues of climate change specific to the hospitality industry. Mr Pásztor will also present his views on the eminent role that can be played by EHL in the combat against global warming. The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne trains leaders for tomorrow.
