Düsseldorf succeeded in attracting world-class companies in several sectors, particularly in telecommunications (D2, Vodafone, E-Plus, Ericsson, Nokia), advertising (Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis) and fashion (Esprit, L’Oréal). . In 2016, the city undertook the creation of The World Trade Center Düsseldorf, key infrastructure that will be located near the city’s airport and is planned to include a hotel, offices and conference areas.
