Dubai ventures into Underwater Hotels

A deal is signed to develop a hotel situated below the water's surface in Dubai.

Drydocks World, the shipbuilding arm of Dubai World, has signed a deal with Swiss company BIG InvestConsult to develop undersea hotels, namely the World Discus Hotel off Dubai's coast.The announcement comes only a month after the company sought insolvency protection in Dubai and Singapore. The hotel will supposedly be submerged at least 30 feet under the sea. Rooms will feature a special lighting system and miniature underwater vehicles operable from inside the building.This is Dubai's second attempt at producing an underwater hotel.
