The Dubai real estate giant Emaar Properties has elected Detco Group of Companies to renovate the hotel that was damaged during a dramatic fire on New Year's Eve. The timetable for the works has not yet been communicated.
In addition to the hotel, the 63-floor tower also has 600 apartments whose occupants also had to evacuate the building. According to Emaar Properties, hotel guests were accommodated in other properties in the city. The group operates several addresses at the destination, in particular The Address at Dubai Mall and The Address at Dubai Marina, which together represent 444 rooms and were able to host the displaced guests this weekend. Emaar Hospitality Group also operates the 21-room boutique hotel The Address Montgomerie Dubai, and the The Palace Downtown Dubai, which has 242 rooms, including 81 suites.
