Dubaï

The Emirate’s hotels hosted some 11 million tourists in 2013, or close to a million more than in the previous year.

On the whole of 2013, Dubai's hotels hosted some 11 million or 10.6% more tourists than the previous year, when close to 10 million tourists stayed at their properties. The Emirate's primary supply markets remain Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Kuwait, Germany, Oman, Iran and China.

The Dubai Department of Tourism Commerce and Marketing (DTCM) also benefits from the dynamism of the Australian market, which shows 39% growth in its occupancy thanks to the agreement signed between Emirates Airlines and Qantas to increase the number of flights between the two destinations.

Dubai is thus well on its way to achieving the goals it set in terms of tourist arrivals: 20 million by 2020, the year the Emirate will host the first World Expo in the Middle East.
