Four Seasons was already ideally located in the Sultanahmet neighbourhood with this former prison converted in a luxury hotel, a stone throw away from St-Sophia basilica and the Topkapi palace. The Canadian group has just added a new jewel to its collection of properties while heading to the European coast of the Bosphorus. This preferred resort destination of the Ottoman elite during the hot season is also the home of many palaces. And this is in one of them, dating from the 19th century, the Four Seasons just went into its summer quarters. The converted palace and its two new wings display a contemporary and uncluttered design, with a little touch of Turkish decor and some local art craft. The main restaurant of the hotel, Aqua, also plays on the contrasts mixing Mediterranean and Oriental influences in its cuisine. A true urban oasis, the Four Seasons offers a heated swimming pool and a bar, set in the heart of the 200m long interior gardens. Under the terrace, from where the clients can observe the navigation of the boats, the 2,100 sq. m spa benefits from daylight. Three steam rooms add to the comfort of the place. But the hotel is not only devoted to leisure: with 2,500 sq.m of meeting space and banqueting facilities, the premises is largely available for conventions and incentives. The two main ballrooms can accommodate up to a thousand guests. The second Four Seasons property adds a new opportunity to discover this ever-changing city. The group is organising the synergy between its two hotels with boat transfers to the first location in Istanbul, close to the main tourist attractions of the city.
