TripAdvisor takes over Vacation Home Rentals

The online opinions forum has bought a second portal dedicated to vacation rentals, following Niumba.com in May 2013.

TripAdvisor announced the acquisition of the American vacation rental booking site Vacation Home Rental. Based in Massachusetts in the United States, the portal brings together more than 14,000 properties worldwide. The amount and terms of the transaction have not been made public.

TripAdvisor thus now owns two vacation rental booking sites after taking over the web portal Niumba.com in May 2013. These transactions correspond to the growth strategy of the website of the online opinions forum, which plans growth through the takeover of smaller businesses. The website now offers a total of 550,000 properties for vacation rentals.
