Les chefs corporatifs de Riu.

'El Taller', the workshop is the new research space in the kitchen of the group's headquarters.

This service is composed of five cooks at headquarters, as well as four others displaced to Jamaica, the United States, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The nine are in charge of creating and supervising the entire gastronomic offer of the hotels in Riu. In total, they are currently responsible for 264 restaurants with 21 specialties, as well as 99 main restaurants. To do so, the food sector has 5,850 employees worldwide.

The team is led by Ignacio Álvarez, who reports to Carles Madrenas, member of the board of directors and responsible for the product (Food, Bars and Restaurants, Reception, Floors, Animation). Mr. Álvarez himself, together with one of his business managers, personally attends each opening to supervise the implementation of the food offer in each hotel.

They are working on three projects:

Depuration of the gastronomic offer of the restaurants (to date, 5% of the references)

New Greek restaurant at Riu Palace Zanzibar

El Taller, a new space for kitchen research with distance learning for all the cooks in the chain.

Mr. Luis Riu concluded by saying :

Even the most difficult situation cannot kill the spirit and creativity of Riu's professionals. These have been very difficult months. Even the last employee is making a great sacrifice, so once again, thank you all and congratulations for a job well done.
