The Office of Fair Trading today began public consultation designed to bring an end to its investigation into unfair online practices against Expedia, Booking and IHG.

On July 31st, the Office of Fair Trading issued a Statement of Objections alleging that Booking.com, Expedia, and InterContinental Hotels Group had infringed competition law pertaining to online room supply.Today, however, the OFT has issued a statement announcing the pursuit of the closure of allegations against IHG, seeking to end the investigation without finding infringements or imposing any fines.Commitments between the hotel group and the OFT are now subject to a consultation period ending on the 13th of September.
