Facebook launches Flights Ads, an advertising product that allows airlines to reach more potential customers

Mark Zuckerberg's group will make Flight Ads available, a solution that will allow airlines to expand their advertising targeting on Facebook, Instagram and also via Audience Network to boost their flight bookings. While airlines could previously only target visitors who had looked for a particular destination on their own websites and applications, they will now have the opportunity to expand their targets by reaching users who express a desire to travel.

"With the expansion of our Flight Ads solution, airlines will now be able to access more people on Facebook. This ranges from the new customer who has not yet thought about his final destination, to the one who already has in mind the flight he wants to book," says Cédric Le Perff, director of the Travel, Media and Entertainment division for Facebook France.

According to a recent survey, 68% of millennials have used Facebook to find inspiration for their next destination.

This solution has been successfully tested by Air France in the United States: the French group has reportedly expanded its American customer base, increasing its number of visits and volume of searches on its site. Facebook concludes that its search cost would have been reduced by 66%.
