The Chinese room reservation platform Ctrip is launching Rezen Hotels Group, with 15 projects already signed.
The Chinese travel market player, Ctrip, gained notoriety in Europe when it strengthened its relationship with AccorHotels. Last April, the French hotel group, claiming to have more than 300 million active users each month, signed a partnership agreement to offer its properties through its room reservation platform.
According to Qichacha.com, an affiliate of Ctrip (Shanghai Hecheng International Travel Agency) reportedly registered the logos of Rezen, Meibo, Yunbo and other accommodation and food services at the same time.
On October 9, Ctrip unveiled Rezen Hotels Group. It will operate in the high-end segment through three brands: Rezen Hotels, Rezen Huating and Rezen Ruixuan.
Rezen Hotels Group will develop in partnership with Shanghai Jinmao Hotel Management and these two players aim to launch more than 30 co-branded hotels over the next 3 years, representing more than 6,000 rooms.
Over the past three months, 3 Rezen hotels have been launched, 15 projects have been signed and 50 others are reportedly under negotiation.
