The Crowne Plaza Barcelona is the first hotel in Spain to offer 5G commercial services after the deployment of the Vodafone network, with a transmission capacity of 1 Gbps.

Due to the temporary closure to which most hotels in Barcelona were obliged, the lobby and restaurant reform projects continued.

In addition to this renovation project and to attract the events, conventions and meetings (MICE) sector, the hotel has signed an agreement with Vodafone for the installation of 5G technology.

Laura Molist, territorial director of Vodafone in Catalonia and Aragon, explains:

The new capabilities and services offered by the 5G network could be one of the keys to the revival of the events and tourism industry in Spain after the confinement. This agreement with the Crowne Plaza Barcelona is another example of our intention to transform multiple sectors of economic activity with 5G and digitization so that companies can be more efficient and sustainable in their processes, and also contribute to the country's economic recovery.
