Booking now allows its partners to offer weekly and monthly rates, in response to the growing demand for long-term stays.
There are two types of long stays, the first weekly, with a minimum stay of seven nights, and the second monthly with a minimum stay of 28 nights.
Even if any property type is eligible to feature the longer-stay rate plans, the move is largely designed to bolster Booking’s homes and apartments business, which has accounted for a growing share of the brand's bookings post-pandemic.
The Booking Holdings CEO Gleen Fogel reported that alternative accommodations made up 40% in the second quarter, a higher share than in years past.
This trend has been increased significantly thanks to the interest in “work-from-anywhere” and “workcation”, two concepts in the U.S as remote work policies.
