TripAdvisor, putting hotels to work to improve its comments

The community site has set the goal of adding100 million comments to its base in the short term. It is proposing that hotels directly load the client email addresses on their servers to solicit them.

TripAdvisor is suggesting a new service to member hotels, Review Express, which creates a new direct bond between clients and the site.

Review Express is designed to salvage client email addresses of those who stayed at participating hotels, in packages of 1 000 addresses at a time. The manager can save a message with the hotel's logo that will be sent by TripAdvisor in the name of the establishment, soliciting them to comment after their stay.

The message must remain neutral as to not influence the comments, the principle being to increase the global volume of "reviews" and improve their visibility on search engines. In the message, a link takes the reader directly to the establishment which provided their e-mail address.

Pour autant, le loup entre un peu plus dans la bergerie, sous le regard brouillé du berger, qui ne cherche même plus à protéger son cheptel.

The wolf enters the chicken-pen a bit more, according to the racket from the chickens, who only want to protect themselves. In the hopes of bettering their grades on TripAdvisor, hotels, which will participate in Express Review, surrender almost the entirety of their client lists.
