The brand owned by the Starwood Hotels & Resorts group announced the opening of its first hotel at the destination in 2015.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts sets its sights on Cairo. In a partnership with New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company SEA, Starwood will develop a new address in Egypt under its Westin Hotels brand. The property, owned by the Egyptian company, will open its doors in 2015, as the Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes.

The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will be part of the luxury residential complex, Katameya Dunes in the New Cairo City district of Cairo. It will have 128 rooms including a presidential suite, four restaurants, a Spa by Westin, a golf course, a swimming pool, and a 24-hour business center.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts currently operates 11 hotels in Egypt through its Sheraton and Le Méridien brands. Several other openings are planned in the city of Cairo in the years to come: the reopening of the Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino in 2015, following complete renovation, and the introduction of two brands with the opening of the St Regis Cairo in 2015 and the W Cairo in 2016.
