Marriott International's independent hotels label announces a hotel opening in Bali, Indonesia.

The upscale label pursues its portfolio’s development with the opening of the Sthala hotel in the city of Lodtunduh, in Bali’s Ubud district, which is considered the island’s cultural capital. This new-build unit is developed in cooperation with PT Anugrah Anadya Nirmana. It offers 143 rooms and suites, a seminar space of more than 400 sq.m, a restaurant, two bars, a fitness center, a spa, and a swimming pool.

The label was created in 2015 with the opening of the Royal Palm South Beach Miami. It gathers a collection of 25 hotels in operation and/or in development. The brand mainly operates in America but also has addresses in Europe and Asia-Pacific. As of January 1, 2016, the new group consisting of Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts is the leading hotel operator worldwide, with 5,640 hotels totaling 1,108,852 rooms worldwide, according to data published by Hospitality-On.
