At the opening of the Bethnal Green Travelodge hotel, the hotel group’s CEO, Grant Hearn, announced the development of 145 new properties in the British capital.
The hotel group already invested 40 million euros to open three additional hotels in London in 2013, at Hounslow, Vauxhall, and Walthamstow. For its future development, Travelodge is aiming at vibrant neighborhoods of the capital, like Westminster, Camden, Southwark, Lambeth, Islington, Ealing, and Greenwich.
"There is clearly a need for good quality economy hotel rooms in the center of London, Most of the existing B&Bs and hostels offering inadequate lodging, of poor quality and exorbitant prices", says Grant Hearn.
Travelodge currently has a network of 490 hotels for more than 35,400 rooms, in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Spain. The group’s objective is to attain 1,100 hotels for 100,000 total from now until the year 2025.
