
Starwood group announced its launch on the Rwandan market with the development of the hotel Sheraton Kigali in the capital.
Scheduled to open in 2018, the Sheraton Kigali will be located in the Gasabo neighborhood, seven kilometers from the airport. The property will have 136 rooms and 62 long-stay apartments.
The opening of the Sheraton Kigali is part of Starwood's growth strategy on the African market, where it plans to increase its portfolio by 30% over the next five years with the opening of 15 properties. Currently, the group operates 37 hotels on the continent representing 10,000 rooms, in Algeria, in Cameroon, in Djibouti, in Egypt, in Ethiopia, in Gabon, in Gambia, in Libya, in Mauritius, in Morocco, in Niger, in Seychelles, in South Africa, in Tunisia and in Uganda.
